Positioned at the windswept entrance to Port Phillip Bay, Lonsdale Links experiences some of the strongest, most consistent coastal winds in the region, which keep local air exceptionally clean day to day. The main pollen concern is spring grass pollen carried from inland pasture on northerly winds, while bushfire smoke is an occasional summer visitor when fires burn in western Victoria or the Otways under the right wind conditions.
