On the shores of Corio Bay just beside Geelong's compact CBD, Eastern Beach pairs a heritage swimming enclosure and waterfront gardens with views across to the city's working port and industrial precinct further along the bay. Bay breezes generally do a good job of dispersing both traffic and any drifting industrial influence, keeping the immediate foreshore feeling fresher than the industrial areas further along Corio Bay. Geelong follows the broader Victorian seasonal pattern, with wood smoke a winter issue and bushfire haze a summer one.
