Inđija owes much of its air quality variation to vehicle traffic and light industry across the plain, compounded by its position on the flat Pannonian plain in Vojvodina. The surrounding Vojvodina terrain can either help disperse or trap these emissions depending on the weather, with active, breezy conditions generally bringing the clearest air.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is air quality bad in Inđija right now?

On 9 August 2026, overall air quality in Inđija is fair. O3 is the main pollutant at 39.2/100. Pollution peaks around 11:00 PM (NO2: 41.3/100).

Will air quality be worse tomorrow in Inđija?

On 10 August 2026, air quality conditions in Inđija will be similar to today, with PM1 forecast at fair at 30.7/100. Pollution peaks around 5:00 AM (NO2: 51.1/100).

When is air pollution at its worst in Inđija?

In Inđija, the combination of ash and oak pollen peaks and vehicle traffic and light industry across the plain accounts for most of the noticeable dips in air quality; Vojvodina's broader weather patterns tend to restore clearer conditions fairly quickly afterward.

Are air quality levels in Inđija based on measurements or forecasts?

It is forecasts derived by downscaling forecasts provided by EU’s Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) by taking into account local conditions such as traffic patterns. CAMS bases its forecast on satellite measurements of particles and chemical compounds in the atmosphere. Airmine’s services were developed with support from the European Space Agency (ESA)’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) team.

Why doesn’t the forecast always reflect wildfire impacts?

Airmine’s forecast uses CAMS (Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service) as its background atmospheric model. While CAMS includes wildfire emissions, these are derived from satellite observations and are not available in real time. During rapidly evolving wildfire events, there may therefore be a delay before increased emissions are incorporated into the model. As a result, the forecast may temporarily underestimate PM₂.₅ and other pollutants associated with wildfire smoke.

During rapidly evolving wildfire events, CAMS may lag by approximately 1–2 days before increased wildfire emissions are fully represented, which can lead to temporary underestimation of PM₂.₅ concentrations in Airmine’s forecast.
