Local air quality in Bellavista depends heavily on local traffic squeezed into narrow streets and light construction dust. Air quality is generally moderate, dictated mostly by how much traffic reaches the old core. The narrow historic streets can trap vehicle fumes that would otherwise disperse quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is air quality bad in Bellavista right now?

On 19 July 2026, overall air quality in Bellavista is fair. PM2.5 is the main pollutant at 27.0/100. Pollution peaks around 7:00 PM (O3: 47.0/100).

Will air quality be worse tomorrow in Bellavista?

On 20 July 2026, air quality conditions in Bellavista will be similar to today, with PM2.5 forecast at fair at 21.9/100. Pollution peaks around 7:00 PM (O3: 57.7/100).

When is air pollution at its worst in Bellavista?

What is the yearly air quality pattern like in Bellavista? January is frequently the most difficult month, with cold stagnant air allowing wood-smoke and exhaust to build up instead of clearing. The transition into spring usually brings cleaner air, as more frequent rain and wind reduce the buildup of local pollution. Hot, dry summer conditions favour ozone formation, so afternoon readings can rise even when traffic and heating pollution are otherwise low. As autumn progresses, cooler temperatures and more frequent rain tend to bring air quality back toward its yearly average. Being close to North Africa, this area is more exposed to Saharan dust intrusions, which can add to the seasonal pattern described above.

Are air quality levels in Bellavista based on measurements or forecasts?

It is forecasts derived by downscaling forecasts provided by EU’s Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) by taking into account local conditions such as traffic patterns. CAMS bases its forecast on satellite measurements of particles and chemical compounds in the atmosphere. Airmine’s services were developed with support from the European Space Agency (ESA)’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) team.

Why doesn’t the forecast always reflect wildfire impacts?

Airmine’s forecast uses CAMS (Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service) as its background atmospheric model. While CAMS includes wildfire emissions, these are derived from satellite observations and are not available in real time. During rapidly evolving wildfire events, there may therefore be a delay before increased emissions are incorporated into the model. As a result, the forecast may temporarily underestimate PM₂.₅ and other pollutants associated with wildfire smoke.

During rapidly evolving wildfire events, CAMS may lag by approximately 1–2 days before increased wildfire emissions are fully represented, which can lead to temporary underestimation of PM₂.₅ concentrations in Airmine’s forecast.
