Volksrust pollen forecast - today, tomorrow and the week ahead

On 16 July 2026, overall pollen levels in Volksrust are moderate. Artemisia is the main contributor to airborne pollen, while platanus and cypress remain at lower levels

According to the five-day outlook, platanus, urtica, and cypress pollen levels are expected to gradually decrease, while artemisia pollen will increase, suggesting mixed conditions later in the week.

On 16 July 2026, Artemisia is the dominant pollen source in Volksrust. platanus and cypress are also present but at lower levels. urtica and morus are not currently active.

Grass and acacia dominate the pollen picture at Volksrust, with the season opening in August and peaking through October and November as Highveld grassland flowers. The dry winter months are largely pollen-free, while the surrounding coal mining and power station operations defines much of the land beyond the town itself, a pattern typical of the wider Highveld region.
