Local Environmental Conditions
Muizenberg lies roughly 20 km south-southeast of Cape Town. Fynbos, oak, and pine make up the bulk of what grows around Muizenberg, with the city bowl, harbour, and southern suburbs occupying much of the land further out. Native and introduced species together produce a fairly short but noticeable spring pollen season each year. This pattern holds true across most of the surrounding Cape fynbos belt.
