Tingvollvågen is a small Møre og Romsdal village in Tingvoll municipality on the Tingvollfjord where birch, alder, and fjordside farmland vegetation are the main local pollen sources. The Tingvollfjord position means onshore winds can periodically disperse pollen, while the Atlantic-influenced western Norwegian climate provides frequent rainfall interruptions and birch peaks through April and May before grass from surrounding Tingvoll farmland contributes through June and July.
