Tennevoll is a small Troms village in Lavangen municipality in the Astafjord area where birch, alder, and fjordside woodland are the main local pollen sources. The fjord setting concentrates pollen under calm conditions, while the subarctic Norwegian climate produces a compressed but intense seasonal progression with birch peaking through May before grass contributes through June and July and the season ends earlier than in southern Norway throughout.
