Noresund is a small Buskerud village in Krødsherad municipality on the shore of Krøderen lake where birch, hazel, and lakeside woodland are the main local pollen sources. Krøderen lake moderates local temperatures and can influence pollen dispersal, while the inland continental Buskerud climate produces a well-defined seasonal progression with birch peaking through April and May before grass contributes through June and July and mugwort extends into September.
