Myre is a small Nordland coastal town in Øksnes municipality on Langøya island in the Vesterålen archipelago where birch, alder, and island farmland vegetation are the main local pollen sources. The Norwegian Sea island position means onshore winds can frequently disperse pollen, while the subarctic Atlantic climate produces a compressed season with birch peaking through May before grass contributes through June and July throughout this Vesterålen fishing community.
