Moen is a small Troms village in Målselv municipality in the Målselvdalen valley where birch, alder, and boreal valley woodland are the main local pollen sources. The enclosed Målselvdalen valley concentrates pollen under calm conditions, while the subarctic continental Troms inland climate produces a compressed but intense seasonal progression with birch peaking through May before grass contributes through June and July throughout this inland Troms valley community.
