Lonevåg is a small Vestland village in Osterøy municipality on the Osterfjord island where birch, alder, and fjordside woodland are the main local pollen sources. The Osterfjord island position means onshore winds can periodically disperse pollen, while the very wet Atlantic western Norwegian climate provides very frequent rainfall interruptions and birch peaks through April and May before grass from surrounding Osterøy farmland contributes through June and July.
