Kjenn is a small Akershus suburban community in Lørenskog municipality where birch, hazel, and urban green space vegetation are the main local pollen sources. The Oslo metropolitan setting slightly advances seasonal timing, while the relatively dry southeastern Norwegian climate means fewer rainfall interruptions than in western Norway and birch peaks through April and May before grass contributes through June and July and mugwort extends into September.
