Jessheim is a small Akershus town in Ullensaker municipality on the Romerike plain where birch, hazel, and open farmland edge vegetation are the main local pollen sources. The flat, open Romerike plain allows pollen to disperse widely, while the relatively dry southeastern Norwegian climate means fewer rainfall interruptions than in western Norway and birch peaks through April and May before grass contributes through June and July and mugwort extends into September.
