Fosby is a small Østfold agricultural village in Halden municipality where birch, hazel, and farmland edge vegetation are the main local pollen sources. The flat, open southeastern Norwegian landscape allows pollen to disperse widely, while the relatively dry Østfold climate means fewer rainfall interruptions than in western Norway and the season opens early with hazel from January before birch peaks through April and grass through June and July.
