Drøbak is a small Akershus coastal town in Frogn municipality at the narrowest point of the Oslofjord where birch, hazel, and coastal woodland are the main local pollen sources. The Oslofjord position means onshore winds can periodically disperse pollen, while the mild Oslo metropolitan coastal climate advances the season slightly compared to more inland eastern Norway and birch peaks through April and May before grass contributes through June and July and mugwort extends into September.

Pollen can travel long distances, but this usually matters only early in the season or during specific wind events.

Are pollen levels in Drøbak based on measurements or forecasts?

Pollen data is often misunderstood. Most "pollen levels" are not real-time measurements, but forecasts.
