Dale i Fjaler is a small Vestland village in Sunnfjord municipality on the Dalsfjord where birch, alder, and fjordside farmland vegetation are the main local pollen sources. The Dalsfjord position means onshore winds can periodically disperse pollen, while the very wet Atlantic western Norwegian climate provides very frequent rainfall interruptions and birch peaks through April and May before grass from surrounding Sunnfjord farmland contributes through June and July.

Pollen data is often misunderstood. Most "pollen levels" are not real-time measurements, but forecasts.
