Burfjord is a small Troms village in Kvænangen municipality on the Burfjord where birch, alder, and fjord-side scrubland are the main local pollen sources. The subarctic West Troms fjord position means onshore winds can frequently disperse pollen, while the subarctic oceanic climate provides regular rainfall interruptions and birch peaks through May before grass contributes through June and July and the season ends earlier than in southern Norway throughout.
