Blakstad is a small Agder village in Vegårshei municipality in the Aust-Agder inland area where birch, hazel, and boreal woodland are the main local pollen sources. The inland Agder continental climate produces a well-defined seasonal progression with birch peaking through April and May before grass contributes through June and July and mugwort extends exposure into September. The relatively dry inland setting means fewer rainfall interruptions than in coastal Agder communities.
