Berkåk is a small Trøndelag village in Rennebu municipality in the Orkla valley where birch, alder, and valley farmland vegetation are the main local pollen sources. The Orkla valley concentrates pollen under calm conditions, while the Atlantic-influenced but inland Trøndelag climate produces a well-defined seasonal progression with birch peaking through April and May before grass contributes through June and July throughout this Dovrefjell approaches community.
