Åmot is a small Telemark village in Kviteseid municipality on the Kviteseid waterway where birch, alder, and riverside woodland are the main local pollen sources. The enclosed Telemark valley concentrates pollen under calm conditions, while the inland continental climate produces a well-defined seasonal progression with birch peaking through April and May before grass contributes through June and July and mugwort extends exposure into September.
