Chaniá's Cretan Mediterranean setting and the White Mountain backdrop produce an early season opening with olive, carob, and cypress in January, with cypress contributing through spring, before grass from surrounding Cretan farmland peaks through March and April. Mugwort and nettle extend exposure into late summer, while the Cretan Sea position means sea breezes can periodically disperse pollen throughout.
