Paleo Faliro's air quality reflects the southern Athens coastal suburb, with vehicle traffic on the surrounding Athenian coastal road and the dense urban residential character generating elevated NOₓ under the enclosed Attica basin's persistent temperature inversions. The Saronikos Gulf provides some maritime ventilation, while the Attica basin's characteristic enclosed geometry concentrates all metropolitan emissions and the coastal road's traffic makes this one of the southern coastal Athens suburbs' more traffic-exposed communities.
