On the urban fringe of Darwin, the Darwin Golf Club sits within Australia's tropical monsoonal north, where the wet season from November to April brings thick humidity, dramatic afternoon storms and generally good air quality as rain washes the atmosphere clean. The dry season that follows, running roughly June to October, is when savanna burning across the surrounding Top End takes hold, and smoke haze can drift across the course on still mornings. Outside of burning season, trade winds keep the air moving nicely, and the course itself turns lush and green once the rains return each summer.
