Horseshoe Bend is a colorado Plateau with pinyon-juniper and desert scrub near Lake Powell. Juniper pollen arrives in late winter, February through March. Slot canyon walls channel air but the antelope canyon areas are largely rock — pollen comes from the plateau above.
