Local Environmental Conditions
York, in Western Australia's wheatbelt, sits amid cleared farmland once covered by wandoo and salmon gum woodland, remnants of which still line travelling stock routes and rocky outcrops. Wheat and canola crops dominate the landscape, and York gum survives along watercourses.
