Local Environmental Conditions
Narrogin sits in WA's central wheatbelt, where wandoo woodland and jarrah forest fringes give way to extensive wheat and canola cropping on cleared land. Sheep grazing occupies pasture paddocks in rotation with crops. Wattle is abundant on remnant woodland edges in late winter. Narrogin's position on the transition between wheatbelt and jarrah forest country gives it a slightly more varied native tree component than the flatter, more open wheatbelt towns further east.
