Local Environmental Conditions
Located close to this spot, this area has a stand of river oak lines the water, a reliable source of casuarina pollen through the warmer months. Here, within the neighborhood's edge, a mix of eucalypt and wattle, wattle in particular a notorious trigger for hay fever across southern Australia. Nearby, near this part of town, a park whose lawns and ornamental plane trees quietly add to local pollen levels.
Along the waterway, river oak releases pollen first, usually the first pollen source active, peaking sometime in July or August. Further into late winter, the area's eucalypt and wattle stands drive the pollen count, peaking as wattle comes into full flower, generally August into September. Grass pollen counts rise through spring, reaching their peak around November, before staying elevated through the summer months into late January.

The 0–100 scores represent risk levels, not direct measurements of pollen or air pollutant concentrations. Higher scores indicate higher risk. Pollen and air quality use different thresholds.
