Coolibah lines the ephemeral creeks that cross the district, and remnant brigalow scrub persists in patches where clearing has been incomplete. Wattle flowers on woodland margins after rain. The heavily cleared, grazing-dominated landscape gives Moranbah a grass-and-woodland-remnant pollen profile typical of the central Queensland brigalow belt.
