Local Environmental Conditions
Located within the neighborhood's edge, this area has the riverbank shelters river oak, whose pollen spreads readily on the wind from spring onward. A stand of eucalypt with wattle through the understorey, wattle ranked among the region's sharpest allergens, a short distance from here. Local wind exposure and land use can shift the exact mix slightly from block to block.
River oak along the water gets the season underway before other species, reaching its high point sometime in late winter or early spring. Eucalypt and wattle in the woodland come next, as wattle bursts into flower, peaking as wattle comes into full flower, generally August into September. As spring turns to summer, grass pollen rises toward its November high, and remaining a significant allergen right through summer until it eases in February.

Pollen data is often misunderstood. Most "pollen levels" are not real-time measurements, but forecasts.

Understanding the Scale
The 0–100 scores represent risk levels, not direct measurements of pollen or air pollutant concentrations. Higher scores indicate higher risk. Pollen and air quality use different thresholds.
Pollen
| None | 0 | No or negligible risk of exposure. Pollen/mold exposure is expected to be minimal. |
| Low | 0-25 | Low risk of exposure. Small amounts of pollen or mold spores may be present. |
| Moderate | 25-50 | Moderate risk of exposure. Pollen/mold exposure is expected to be noticeable. |
