Local Environmental Conditions
Located close to this spot, this area has the waterway's edge supports river oak, a species whose fine pollen travels well beyond the immediate bank. This area, near this part of town, has tree cover made up mostly of eucalypt and wattle, wattle in particular a well-known seasonal trigger. A green space of mown lawn and planted plane trees, both feeding into local pollen counts, close to this spot.
Along the waterway, river oak releases pollen first, topping out well before most other trees start releasing pollen, around July and August. Eucalypt and wattle in the nearby woodland follow through late winter and early spring, typically the year's sharpest tree-pollen spell, centered on wattle's flowering in August and September. Spring brings rising grass pollen that crests in November, before staying elevated through the summer months into late January.

Understanding the Scale
The 0–100 scores represent risk levels, not direct measurements of pollen or air pollutant concentrations. Higher scores indicate higher risk. Pollen and air quality use different thresholds.
Pollen
| None | 0 | No or negligible risk of exposure. Pollen/mold exposure is expected to be minimal. |
| Low | 0-25 | Low risk of exposure. Small amounts of pollen or mold spores may be present. |
| Moderate | 25-50 | Moderate risk of exposure. Pollen/mold exposure is expected to be noticeable. |
