Local Environmental Conditions
Nearby, within the neighborhood, a waterway lined with river oak, a wind-pollinated species and one of the more potent allergen sources along Australian creeks and rivers. This area, close to home here, has a canopy of eucalypt threaded with wattle, wattle chief among them for allergenic potency here. A park combining lawn grass and plane trees, both contributors to pollen here through the warmer months, just outside the immediate area.
The bank's river oak kicks off the pollen season ahead of the rest, building through the depths of winter into September. Once river oak fades, eucalypt and wattle in the woods carry the season forward, usually hitting its highest point sometime between mid-August and mid-September. As spring turns to summer, grass pollen rises toward its November high, before staying elevated through the summer months into late January.

Understanding the Scale
The 0–100 scores represent risk levels, not direct measurements of pollen or air pollutant concentrations. Higher scores indicate higher risk. Pollen and air quality use different thresholds.
Pollen
| None | 0 | No or negligible risk of exposure. Pollen/mold exposure is expected to be minimal. |
| Low | 0-25 | Low risk of exposure. Small amounts of pollen or mold spores may be present. |
| Moderate | 25-50 | Moderate risk of exposure. Pollen/mold exposure is expected to be noticeable. |
