Local Environmental Conditions
Luddenham sits in Sydney's rural west, Cumberland Plain woodland country of grey box and forest red gum interspersed with grazing paddocks and market gardens; the semi-rural setting also carries scattered plantings of exotic shade trees around older homesteads. As with much of temperate south-eastern Australia, grass pollen is the dominant late-spring concern locally, with an earlier and shorter wattle peak through August and September providing the season's first flush.
