Narvik reflects the inner Ofotfjord position, with vehicle traffic and the iron ore terminal — one of Europe's busiest, loading LKAB Swedish ore — generating elevated mineral dust PM10. The fjord's mountain enclosure creates modest topographic variation, while the iron ore terminal's distinctive mineral dust represents Narvik's most industrially unique air quality contribution throughout the year.
