Pori's air quality reflects the Kokemäenjoki river delta on the Gulf of Bothnia, with the Porin Ahteentie industrial corridor's metal smelting and manufacturing operations generating elevated PM2.5 alongside vehicle traffic on the E8. Bothnian Sea and Baltic westerlies generally provide maritime ventilation, while the surrounding northern Finnish coastal plain allows reasonable dispersal and the industrial operations represent the most distinctive local emission source.
