The elevated subtropical highland setting produces a more defined pollen season than coastal Brazil, while the dry season from April to September concentrates pollen dispersal and the extensive mountain terrain creates highly variable local pollen exposure conditions throughout this demanding Mantiqueira Mountains ultra trail event.
