Local Environmental Conditions
Located in the wider area, this area has hazel and willow thrive along the damp bank, both prolific early wind-pollinators. This area, close to this spot, has oak and birch make up the bulk of this woodland, birch being the more potent allergen of the two. Mown grass and ornamental trees in a nearby park, adding to seasonal grass and ragweed pollen, a short distance from here.
The bank's hazel and willow kick off the pollen season ahead of the rest, topping out well before most other trees start releasing pollen, around February and March. Woodland oak and birch pick up the pace next, through mid-to-late spring, reaching maximum intensity across the April-May window.
