North Bergen's Hudson County New Jersey ridge and valley setting features oak, maple, and sweetgum as the main tree pollen sources, with exposure varying between the wooded Palisades ridge residential areas above and the more built-up commercial corridors in the lower valley areas. The dramatic Palisades ridge creates distinct elevation-based pollen gradients between the wooded ridge top and the urban commercial areas in the Hudson waterfront below throughout the season.
