Pacific Dunes' Oregon coast setting features coastal grasses, shore pine, and gorse as the main pollen sources across the dramatic clifftop links-style course, with exposure varying between the exposed Pacific Ocean-facing holes and the more sheltered inland sections. The Pacific Ocean position means strong onshore winds frequently disperse pollen, while the very wet Oregon Pacific climate provides very frequent rainfall interruptions throughout the long spring and summer season.
