Local Environmental Conditions
A waterway supports hazel and willow along its bank, both strongly allergenic wind-pollinated species, about 500 meters off. Located reasonably near, about 400 meters out, this area has a wooded stretch of oak and birch, with birch responsible for some of the sharpest spring counts. Maintained parkland where turf grass and ornamental species add to the grass and ragweed mix; this sits immediately nearby, about 150 meters off.

The woodland's oak and birch trees become the main pollen source by mid-spring, peaking in the heart of spring, generally April into May. Moving into early summer, grass pollen climbs to its seasonal high in June, then yields to ragweed, the dominant late-summer and fall allergen through October.
