The festival site south of Roskilde follows the same broad calendar as the town — hazel and alder from January, birch through April and May, grass from June into July — but by the time the festival itself runs in late June and early July, grass pollen combined with dust from tens of thousands of trampled-grass campsite pitches becomes the dominant irritant rather than tree pollen.
