Manhuaçu rises in the Minas Gerais Zona da Mata coffee growing highlands on the Manhuaçu River, where native Atlantic Forest remnants, eucalyptus, and coffee plantation vegetation are the main pollen sources. The tropical highland climate produces a more defined pollen season, while the very wet Zona da Mata climate provides frequent rainfall interruptions and the river valley concentrates pollen under calm conditions throughout this important Minas Gerais coffee municipality.
