This classic seaside links course at the mouth of the Moyne River is set among coastal dunes, with moonah and coastal tea-tree scrub framing the fairways and grasses mown low across the exposed dune terrain, deliberately minimal tree cover in the links tradition, leaving the course fully open to sea winds. Marram grass and spinifex bind the exposed dune faces, a vegetation pattern deliberately preserved in the classic links tradition established when the course was first laid out in the 1890s, among the country's oldest such layouts.
