Local Environmental Conditions
River oak grows along the bank here, releasing fine wind-borne pollen typical of casuarina species, near this part of town. Located just around the area, this area has tree cover made up mostly of eucalypt and wattle, wattle in particular a well-known seasonal trigger. Maintained parkland where turf grass and ornamental plane trees add to the local pollen mix, in the wider area.
Water-edge river oak is usually the first allergenic tree active here, usually peaking sometime between July and September. Eucalypt and wattle in the woodland come next, as wattle bursts into flower, usually peaking from August into October. Grass pollen rises through spring toward a November high point, with levels staying elevated into the new year before finally easing off.
