Local Environmental Conditions
Located within the neighborhood's edge, this area has river oak crowds the water's edge here, a well-known contributor to local casuarina pollen counts. Located just around the area, this area has a stand of eucalypt with wattle through the understorey, wattle ranked among the region's sharpest allergens. A park whose turf grass and ornamental plane trees feed local pollen levels through spring, not far from here.
River oak along the water gets the season underway before other species, peaking in mid-winter through September. By late winter, eucalypt and wattle in the woods take over, typically the year's sharpest tree-pollen spell, centered on wattle's flowering in August and September. As spring turns to summer, grass pollen rises toward its November high, and remaining a significant allergen right through summer until it eases in February.

A good pollen forecast therefore depends on accurately representing local vegetation. Pollen can travel long distances, but this usually matters only early in the season or during specific wind events.
Are pollen levels in Hamilton Hill based on measurements or forecasts?
Pollen data is often misunderstood. Most "pollen levels" are not real-time measurements, but forecasts.
Direct pollen measurements are typically delayed by 1-2 days because they require manual analysis. To show current conditions in Hamilton Hill, modern forecasts combine recent measurements, weather data, and information about local vegetation.
This allows us to estimate pollen levels for today and the coming days, not just report the past.

The 0–100 scores represent risk levels, not direct measurements of pollen or air pollutant concentrations. Higher scores indicate higher risk. Pollen and air quality use different thresholds.
