Local Environmental Conditions
This area, not far from here, has river oak grows along the bank here, releasing fine wind-borne pollen typical of casuarina species. Tree cover made up mostly of eucalypt and wattle, wattle in particular a well-known seasonal trigger, close to this spot. This area, within the neighborhood's edge, has parkland with regularly mown grass and planted plane trees, both sources of seasonal pollen.
Along the waterway, river oak releases pollen first, arriving ahead of the rest of the season, cresting around mid-winter. Once river oak fades, eucalypt and wattle in the woods carry the season forward, cresting around August and September in the year's sharpest tree-pollen spike. Spring brings rising grass pollen that crests in November, then persisting at a reduced but still meaningful level into the new year.
