Denver's RiNo Arts District air quality reflects the River North industrial arts conversion corridor, with vehicle traffic on I-70 and Brighton Boulevard and the surrounding warehouse conversion and industrial character contributing elevated diesel PM2.5 from the adjacent freight rail and I-70 expressway. The Rocky Mountain westerly airflows provide clean background air on most days, while the freight infrastructure's proximity and the industrial conversion character maintain RiNo at above-average Denver metropolitan readings throughout most of the year.
