Ayolas's air quality reflects the southeastern Paraguayan Ñeembucú plain near the Itaipú and Yacyretá hydroelectric complex, with vehicle emissions from the Ruta 1 and surrounding agricultural and construction operations contributing modest local sources. The Paraná River corridor and the reservoir's humidity provide limited ventilation, while the rural agricultural character and low industrial base generally maintain relatively good conditions compared to the greater Asunción metropolitan corridor throughout the year.
