Val di Fiemme's air quality benefits from its exceptional Trentino-Alto Adige Dolomites alpine valley position at approximately 1,000 metres on the Avisio River, with consistent alpine valley breezes providing clean natural ventilation through this famous Nordic skiing and Marcialonga cross-country ski marathon corridor. Very modest vehicle traffic and the tourism and agricultural corridor contribute minimal local sources, while the extraordinary Dolomites UNESCO alpine setting and the clean mountain climate generally maintain excellent to good conditions throughout most of the year.
