Rome's Parco degli Acquedotti records good air quality on Rome's southeastern periphery, with the open aqueduct park landscape and low surrounding traffic providing cleaner conditions than the central historic districts. The flat open terrain allows good wind dispersal, making this one of Rome's more pleasant air quality environments for outdoor exercise.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is air quality bad in Parco degli Acquedotti right now?
On 17 August 2026, overall air quality in Parco degli Acquedotti is fair. PM1 is the main pollutant at 20.8/100. Pollution peaks around 10:00 AM (O3: 51.0/100).
Will air quality be worse tomorrow in Parco degli Acquedotti?
On 18 August 2026, air quality conditions in Parco degli Acquedotti will be better than today, with AQI forecast at medium at 44.0/100. Pollution peaks around 1:00 PM (O3: 44.0/100).
When is air pollution at its worst in Parco degli Acquedotti?
Residents in Parco degli Acquedotti are most likely to spot reduced air quality when oak and open grassland pollen peaks, or due to the flat open terrain allows good wind dispersal, making this one of Rome's more; for the rest of the calendar year, natural airflow keeps background levels low.
Are air quality levels in Parco degli Acquedotti based on measurements or forecasts?
It is forecasts derived by downscaling forecasts provided by EU’s Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) by taking into account local conditions such as traffic patterns. CAMS bases its forecast on satellite measurements of particles and chemical compounds in the atmosphere. Airmine’s services were developed with support from the European Space Agency (ESA)’s Business Applications and Space Solutions (BASS) team.
Why doesn’t the forecast always reflect wildfire impacts?
Airmine’s forecast uses CAMS (Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service) as its background atmospheric model. While CAMS includes wildfire emissions, these are derived from satellite observations and are not available in real time. During rapidly evolving wildfire events, there may therefore be a delay before increased emissions are incorporated into the model. As a result, the forecast may temporarily underestimate PM₂.₅ and other pollutants associated with wildfire smoke.
During rapidly evolving wildfire events, CAMS may lag by approximately 1–2 days before increased wildfire emissions are fully represented, which can lead to temporary underestimation of PM₂.₅ concentrations in Airmine’s forecast.
